About

I am a professional photographer who works predominantly in black and white. I love the interplay between shadow and light and use this to illustrate particular thoughts , stories and journeys. I find the medium particularly effective in social documentary photography in order to focus the eye on particular aspects of the picture. I am a great fan of particular female social documentary photographers such as : JULIA MARGARET CAMERON (1815 – 1879), DOROTHEA LANGE (1895 – 1965) and BERENICE ABOT (1898 – 1991). I also draw on the work of Henri Cartier Bresson and others in that genre.
