Description

Spring and the county is waking up after a long winter. At the RSPB Headquarters in Sandy, Bedfordshire, the daffs are in full bloom whilst an early morning mist shrouds the trees, creating a soft canopy of fog that contrasts sharply with the tones and vibrant colours of the daffs. The RSPB was closed during lockdown, but we were still allowed to use the roadway through the reserve, and to see the wonderful spring display in the woods. Spring in lockdown was particularly magnificent, yet as the picture suggests, the pandemic was not over, continuing to shroud us like mist, blurring the boundaries of our lives, obscuring the sun, and reminding us that life would never be quite the same again.
